General Information

The Louisville Metro Housing Authority (LMHA) is committed to working with qualified vendors and contractors who can fulfill the various contractual needs of the agency.

The General Provisions are to:

  1. Provide fair and equitable treatment of all persons or firms involved in purchasing by the LMHA;
     

  1. Assure that supplies, services and construction are procured efficiently, effectively and at the most favorable prices available to the LMHA;
     

  1. Promote competition in contracting;
     

  1. Provide safeguards for maintaining a procurement systems of quality and integrity; and,
     

  1. Assure that LMHA purchasing actions are in full compliance with applicable Federal standards, HUD regulations and State and local laws.

*The term “procurement” includes both contract and modifications (including change orders) for construction or services, as well as purchase, lease or rental of supplies and equipment.

How can I find out about contractual opportunities?

Regularly review the legal section of local newspapers (Courier Journal & Louisville Defender) and the LMHA website (Bid Opportunities) for notification of bid opportunities.

When are bids opened?

At the time and date specified on front of the bid page.

Do I need to be pre-qualified to bid?

No. Qualifications and certifications required for specific contracts will be required prior to award of contract.

What do I need to do to have my company added to the LMHA bidders’ list?

Send a letter requesting to be added to LMHA bidder’s list to the Purchasing Dept. on your company’s letterhead. Be sure to specify the services and/or products your company provides.
